Barbie Twilight Jane Doll

So the latest character from the Twilight movies to get the Barbie treatment is Jane, the mysterious Volturi enforcer that we first see in the Twilight Eclipse movie. She joins Bella, Edward, Jacob, Alice and Victoria to be fashioned as a barbie doll and is due to make her big release in May 2011.

More on the Barbie Twilight Jane Doll

The Barbie Twilight Jane Doll is a fairly good representation of the character played by Dakota Fanning in the movie. Most Barbie dolls look pretty much the same in terms of dimensions and body shape. So the face and clothing real distinguish the doll from others in the Barbie lineup.

This Twilight doll has the face and blonde hair of the character. She also wears the all black outfit and black boots that make her seem rather sinister. To add to her mysterious appeal, she has a full black cape and hood.

Fans of the Twilight dolls will want to add this item to their collection although it seems strange that other more central characters were not made into Barbie dolls first.

Background to Jane

Not much is known of Jane, except that she is from the Volturi coven in Volterra, Tuscany. She seems to be a bit of an enforcer or trouble shooter for the coven. The Volturi are described as “royalty” by the other vampire covens mainly because they are the oldest Vampire coven and tend to enforce the rules by which other vampires live (or exist as they are strictly dead in human terms) because they are so strong and powerful.

When a vampire or Vampires are doing something wrong, the Volturi generally get involved. In the Eclipse movie, Jane along with Alec and Caius arrive in Seattle to investigate the army that Victoria is creating. They suspect that something is not right and also start investigating the fact that Bella is still a human living in a vampire coven. The involvement of the Volturi increases in the next installment of the movie series. Dakota Fanning is due to reprise the role of Jane in the forthcoming Twilight movies.
